Three days after its official announcement, Tim Johnson vs. Luis Henrique is already off the UFC Belem fight card after the Brazilian suffered a biceps injury that requires surgery. MMA Fighting confirmed the news following a report by Combate.
UFC Belem is scheduled for Feb. 3 at the Mangueirinho Gymnasium. The company has yet to announce the main event.
Henrique (10-4) lost back-to-back fights to Marcin Tybura and Arjan Bhullar this year, dropping his Octagon record to 2-3. It’s still unclear if Johnson (11-4) will get a new opponent for UFC Belem, or if he will be moved to another card.
With 58 days left before the event, Thiago Santos vs. Anthony Smith and Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Joseph Morales are the only bouts currently official for the promotion’s first card in the North area of Brazil.
